Marcia S. Gibson, PsyD
“The wound is the place where the light enters you.” — Rumi
Change is possible, and healing is within reach. Let’s work together to uncover your strengths, find clarity and create a path toward the life you deserve. My work is my calling and passion. I am the founder of Marcia S. Gibson, PsyD and Associates, P.C., as well as a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience. While I am not currently accepting new clients, I am deeply committed to ensuring that each person who contacts our practice is matched with the clinician best suited to their needs.
Our team of skilled therapists specializes in a wide range of concerns, and I oversee a collaborative and supportive approach to care. I am confident that one of our experienced clinicians can provide the guidance and support you are seeking. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Upholding professional boundaries and ethical care is central to my practice.
As a therapist, it is an honor and privilege to support individuals from young adulthood through their senior years as they navigate life’s challenges. Each session offers an opportunity to witness their courage, resilience and transformation. I am deeply committed to providing the care and support they deserve.
I integrate trauma-informed principles into every aspect of therapy. Trauma can shape a person’s emotions, relationships and sense of self. Therefore, I help clients process difficult experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering using methods such as
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness-based strategies
I guide clients in gaining insight into the patterns and beliefs that contribute to their struggles while providing practical tools to manage symptoms like anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive behaviors. Together we develop personalized strategies that foster healing and growth.
Mindfulness plays a key role in my work, helping clients increase self-awareness, manage overwhelming emotions and develop a deeper sense of self-compassion. This foundation supports clients in finding balance and resilience in the face of life’s stressors.
Education:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Chicago School of Professional Psychology
Professional Memberships:
- American Psychological Association
- Illinois Psychological Association
I frequently attend trainings, workshops and continuing education programs. Staying informed about the latest research and therapeutic techniques allows me to grow continually and provide evidence-based, compassionate support tailored to each individual’s needs.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature through walks and hiking, which helps me stay grounded and present. I love traveling and exploring new places, as well as visiting my adult children who live out of town.
Reading is another passion of mine, as it provides both relaxation and new perspectives.
Most importantly, I cherish quality time with family and friends, whether it’s sharing a meal, playing a game, listening to music or simply being together. These activities bring me joy and balance and they help me connect more deeply with the world around me.

Kristy Kipka, PsyD
“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are” — Brené Brown
I’m Dr. Kristy Kipka, a licensed clinical psychologist passionate about providing comprehensive mental health support. I believe in the power of understanding oneself deeply, and I offer both therapy and psychological testing to facilitate this process.
I use a combination of evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
These therapeutic approaches help people develop coping strategies, navigate life’s challenges, understand their thoughts and emotions, manage stress, build healthier relationships and improve overall well-being by focusing on both changing negative patterns and accepting difficult emotions.
As Carl Rogers wisely said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” I strive to help my clients embrace this process and move toward a fulfilling and meaningful life.
I work with children, adolescents, adults and families. I specialize in conducting psychological and psychoeducational assessments to identify ADHD, learning differences, and emotional challenges. These assessments offer important insights for diagnosis, treatment planning, and accommodations in academic, professional and personal settings for individuals of all ages.

“Unlocking the mind’s resilience: Navigating the labyrinth of emotions, healing and hope.”
You are not alone. Together we can achieve mental health resilience to navigate life’s challenges. Therapy is a collaborative process tailored to a person’s unique needs, whether it’s when experiencing major life changes or learning how to better manage depression, anxiety and other conditions. I assist clients in developing healthier thought patterns and behaviors using evidence-based techniques. I enjoy helping people
- Find a sense of purpose and belief in themselves. When you discover meaning in life’s challenges, your resilience increases.
- Embrace change with optimism. Adaptability is key. Through a positive and expanded outlook, change can fuel growth.
- Develop problem-solving skills. Enhance your ability to effectively tackle challenges and become empowered to use your strengths to reach your goals.
Together we can examine core beliefs, self-defeating thoughts and interpersonal challenges that may be blocking you from enjoying the fulfilling relationships you seek. Mental health is interconnected with other areas of life. Because of this, I consider the whole person, including physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects.
I work with adults, including people aged 65 and over as well as people who have been diagnosed with cancer. I also work with first responders and veterans. I understand the impact of trauma, and I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

I have a deep reverence for the therapy room. It’s sacred to sit beside you when you’re in pain as well as when you’re joyful and overcoming challenges. It’s an honor to be invited into your life on this deep and intimate level and hear your story.

Brittney Little, LPC
As a therapist, I believe that the relationship between client and clinician is the heart of the healing process. My approach is rooted in both client-centered and psychodynamic traditions, which means I honor your story, your pace, and your inner wisdom, while also helping you explore the deeper patterns and unconscious dynamics that may be shaping your present experiences.
Above all, I offer a space of warmth, safety, and unconditional positive regard. I see therapy as a collaborative process where you can feel seen, heard, and deeply supported, especially in the places that feel stuck, painful, or unclear. Together, we work to understand the “why” behind your struggles, while building trust and insight that can lead to lasting change.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, I meet you with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your unique journey.
I work with adults who are navigating challenges like depression, anxiety, major life transitions, and relationship struggles. I have a special passion for supporting military spouses, veterans, and active-duty service members as they face the unique stressors that come with their roles and lifestyles.

My path to becoming a therapist began through a deeply personal lens while supporting my partner through their mental health journey while serving in the military. Watching them navigate a system that often felt impersonal, rushed, or misunderstood showed me how vital it is to have a space where people feel truly seen and heard. It sparked a calling in me to offer something different: care that is compassionate, grounded, and genuinely human.
Outside of my passion for working with military-connected individuals, I have a special passion for working with women in their 20s to 40s who are feeling overwhelmed by perfectionism, self-doubt, and the pressure to have it all figured out. I believe that healing happens through a strong, trusting relationship, and I strive to create a space where you feel truly heard, accepted, and supported.
Whether you’re carrying the invisible weight of service, supporting someone who is, or simply looking for a safe space to reconnect with yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you.
Mondays: 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Tuesdays: 12 p.m.- 8 p.m.
